Re: No open carry at Redners Market in Sinking spring Pa
You did far more than most.
Instead of running to the intrewebs to rant to strangers about how you won't spend money somewhere, you told, and are telling the people who actually need to hear it.
One heaping serving of positive rep coming right up!I called to check my ZIP CODE!....DY-NO-MITE!!!

Re: No open carry at Redners Market in Sinking spring Pa
I rarely OC but will have to test-drive it at the Leesport and 5th St Highway stores. This time of the year it would be hard to see, though.
I have OC'd a bunch of times at the mini market on Tuckerton Road when I was coming back from the range. Never heard a word about it.My Feedback - http://forum.pafoa.org/showthread.ph...ight=stainless

Re: No open carry at Redners Market in Sinking spring Pa
Hmm, when I started carrying back in 2013. I went right to open carry.
And I immediately avoided the Redners within walking distance to my house, here on Lehigh St. in Allentown.
The same Redners where I was previously spending at a minimum of $200 per week.
I began avoiding that Redners and instead going to Wegmans for three reasons.
- I was not certain about the legality of carrying in a grocery store that also had a postal unit.
- I read in other threads that Redners was anti gun.
- I read that Wegmans was pro gun and followed state laws.
After a a little over a year of avoiding Redners, instead patronizing Wegmans, and attending a few concealed carry seminars in the area.
I learned it was legal to carry in a grocery store that had a postal unit.
And that Redners may no longer be anti gun.
So in late 2014, I tried doing my grocery shopping back at the Redners.
Not only was I never told by any employee I was not allowed to carry in their store.
I actually had a couple employees give me encouraging remarks.
But after reading this thread; I may have to go back to doing all my grocery shopping at Wegmans.
And send Redners a letter informing them why they lost me as a patron.--ET

Re: No open carry at Redners Market in Sinking spring Pa
What I gathered from the loss prevention guy is that typical store personnel wont say anything to you, only loss prevention will. Which seems stupid and explains why I carried for so long openly before anything was said to me. I have probably been in this store 500 times open carrying and spoke with managers on more than one occasion while plainly carrying open. It seems they are making a very poor effort to enforce this policy.

Re: No open carry at Redners Market in Sinking spring Pa
So here's an email I received this morning from the director of marketing oddly enough
Dear Mr. Miller,
Thank you for writing. I have given your letter to Mr. Redner. As one of our valued customers, your comments, both positive and negative, are important to us. You may be assured that Mr. Redner personally reads every letter and then passes it on to the appropriate staff person. We will try to address problems as quickly as possible and we will share all of your comments with the appropriate employees.
We certainly understand and respect your legal right to carry a firearm within the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. We do not have a written policy regarding the carrying of a firearm within our building and choose to approach each matter if brought to the attention of our staff. As a retail operator, we must constantly work to accommodate all of our customers likes and dislikes which will, many times, force us to make a decision that will ultimately upset one of the parties involved. As a private business we do have the right to ask any customer to remove or legally conceal their firearm while within our building. In these cases legally concealing the firearm, if you have a concealed carry permit, is the quickest way to mitigate the situation and allows you to continue to keep the firearm on your person. If not, we will then ask that the weapon be removed from the store. You are certainly welcomed to continue to shop with us once the weapon has been removed or concealed.
We will continue to work hard to provide you with the lowest prices, freshest product and excellent service we have for over 46 years. If you wish to discuss your concerns further, please feel free to contact me.
Sincerely,
Eric B. White
Director of Marketing
