Re: Dealing with AAC. My Customer Service Nightmare.
And in what universe does "fix" mean "we can fix it but it won't be safe to fire because we can't replace the missing part."???

Columbo! You might have something there. Either that the range master didn't really take a good look for it.
Hard to tell at this point. that being said, AAC is a company I would NOT do business with.
The ATF said its OK, why is it so hard to give a guy baffle? Its not like hes asking for all 7, ONE!
Horrible CS.

Re: Dealing with AAC. My Customer Service Nightmare.
WoW, Thanks for sharing such a detailed review.
It's one thing to not do warranty work on lost parts, but to tell someone that they're shit out of luck on an $800 purchase because they won't replace for a fee, a missing item that is required for proper function. Sounds pretty shitty to me
I have a AAC Pilot .22lr can. Wasn't my first choice but it was in stock when I wanted something for rimfire. Oh well. I had heard rumors about AAC especially since they are now part of the "Freedom Group" which includes others that have gone down hill ~ Remington, Marlin etc."It seems that the Constitution is more or less guidelines than actual rules"

Re: Dealing with AAC. My Customer Service Nightmare.
That's the issue right there.
Before that, 6-8 years ago, it's was no issue with AAC.
Another thing, the OP left NFA parts on the range. I would have stayed until they closed and went looking myself. If they would not allow, cool, let's get the ATF involved with the range having baffles and possibly no SOT.
AAC was wrong in how they handled the response. No doubt about that.
The OP was lazy for not putting forth more effort to find his registered items.
Just my opinion.HGW, llc ~ Title 1 & NFA sales/manufacturing ~ Transfers - Title 1 $20 - NFA $50

Who said anything about trespassing? I'm talking about waiting until the range was done for the day, line cold, and looking for your property. I doubt the range has that much an asshat managment.

Re: Dealing with AAC. My Customer Service Nightmare.
Well, I don't disagree that CS did not explain the policy very well which led to the escalation. I'm not sure about shit job as a description, but that's fine.
I will say that I have not had to deal with AAC lately, my SDN and Element have been rock solid. It does sound like there's an uptick in complaints which is unfortunate.

Re: Dealing with AAC. My Customer Service Nightmare.
And this thread right here should be a lesson to anyone why you don't shoot an NFA item at an indoor range, and why you don't buy a suppressor anymore of any kind that can't be disassembled. I too when I was reading it was thinking a missing baffle, as at an indoor range a baffle strike would have left evidence on the concrete floor. Never really gonna get to the truth of this one, looks like you learned a $800 lesson.
