I have seen nothing because I haven't been able to get out a single day yet this year. Not even for archery season.

The antler restrictions have balanced the gender ratio to be sure. Dropping the doe season for the first 5 days of rifle, for most of the state, made sense. It should have been done years sooner, IMO

But this thread will go to shit quickly because there is nothing Pa hunters like more than trashing the PGC no matter what their policies are.

I saw jack shit after spending 4 days in the woods up in Towanda...Dad saw a spike buck but that was the excitement for the week.

I'm convinced deer know when opening day/week/season is and get the hell outta dodge.

They can also read. The few I have seen at the two state parks I have hunted were all on the wrong side of the hunting/no hunting signs. Well they were on the wrong side in my opinion, they may have felt differently.

They tend to bed down in thick stuff after the opener. You gotta drive them out. We have gotten lots of action doing small drives here and there. Just haven't seen any with legal bones.

I'm all for shitting on the PGC but I have to say things are better where I hunt the last two years. I hunt 3D, state land. Walking around the Wed before opening day I seen 6 deer. Heard a couple I couldn't see. One was a spike, one eight rest I couldn't tell. Opening day I seen two doe and shot an 8pt. My buddy shot a ten about 300 yards from me. It was chasing two doe. 5 other rack bucks were killed in the same area. We have seen more big bucks killed in the last 5 years than the previous 30. There are also way less hunters. I love antler restrictions. The deer are slowly recovering from the massacre that happened the first few years of open doe season for two straight weeks. The new doe regulations are great. I think things are going in the right direction.

My season basically started today (vacation time). Saw 2 doe this morning and that was it. Lots of tracks in the fresh snow though. Heading out first thing in the a.m.

I saw 1 legal buck and 11 hunters by 7:20am, shot the buck and was done.

Even though I haven't filled a tag I am satisfied with the results on the new regs. I just like seeing deer when I am out there.
