I don't consider that a good price. Hate to think of their regular price. If you are new to shooting and don't have good sources, you should consider looking at some online prices from such people as sgammo, targetsports, etc.

I've seen better prices online, but rarely at a local brick and mortar.

There's a 'deals' thread over 1,000 pages long that is where this would likely be best posted.

Having said that, $0.29 a round (plus tax, plus gas) is definitely NOT a noteworthy price. The aforementioned SGammo & targetsports - and also Ammoseek - are good sources for ammo deals.

At retail stores, for FMJ brass-cased 115/124-grain target rounds like you mention, I consider $0.23-24 per round the max I'll pay, and ~$0.20 per round is what typically moves me to buy some. Cabela's, e.g., has Blazer Brass FMJ boxes of 50 for $10.59 each on a somewhat regular basis... 3-4x a year, e.g.

Online, for me, it's pretty much gotta be $0.20 a round or less (net including tax, if any, + shipping). I buy most of my 9mm target ammo online, favor CCI and Aguila and typically pay $0.19-$0.20 per round.

Gander has 50 rd boxes of American Eagle 22LR 38 gr copper plated HP for $2.49.
    40 gr solids are $2.99/50

    Is that better?

They actually have a shit-ton of assorted 22LR at rather fair prices.

No shit? I should check that out. My 'inherited' 22LR -only- came with a few thousand rounds... Feeling understocked.

I should have taken a photo.
Haven't seen that much 22LR in one place in a while.

22 Automatch is $22 and change. $4 more than Walmart, but I never see it in Walmart any more and Gander always has it.

CCI Standard velocity was $4/50 rd box if I recall.
    They had CCI Quiets too.

Federal 40 gr round nose was $3/50. That stuff runs flawlessly in my 22AR.

    Shitloads of 22.

All their other ammo that I looked at was overpriced, but 22 seemed reasonable as compared to other places.
