    I have an old 99 takedown that I forgot I had. It is in 30-30. I think it was made in 1912.

    Yes. The past magshield. Without it I can't get through a box of 20 150 gr in my 99F .308 without being beaten up. With it I can shoot all day and barely feel it and it won't change the length of pull as much as a slip on butt pad will.
