Keeping a round chambered
Ok guys this is my dilemma. For the past year I have been taking some carry classes, as well as shooting. I have been cc'ing for about the past six months now on a steady basis. I practice holstering as well as re-holstering on a daily basis. What my issue is however; I just can't muster up the balls to roll around with one in the pipe. Any suggestions?

Do you leave your fire extinguishers empty until there is a fire?
Do you remove your seat belts and airbags until you need them in an accident?

I don't know what you're carrying but some guns--for me--impart a greater level of comfort than others. I carried a Glock for several years for my job with one in the pipe. I don't like Glock's safety on the trigger. It's not something I find comforting. On the other hand, something with an exposed hammer and double action trigger pull puts me more at ease. Our Beretta's had a long trigger pull and a hammer that you could put your thumb over while holstering. I wasn't a fan of double action only but it did offer a greater margin for error.
My ideal carry is a traditional double action with a hammer drop/safety. Is it a Glock? If you have a good holster, and practice proper holstering, you should be fine. Keep your finger, or any other object out of the trigger guard.

I felt the same way too, until I've seen enough videos showing situations that required a quick draw and shoot. I don't carry a 1911.

I have only carried plus one. But whatever you are comfortable with and will keep ya carrying.
