Default Pa. bill to hike gun crime penalties signed into law

Pa. bill to hike gun crime penalties signed into law

    http://abc27.com/2016/11/03/pa-bill-...gned-into-law/

HARRISBURG, Pa. (WHTM) – Gov. Tom Wolf has signed legislation to increase the maximum penalty for felons who illegally possess guns.

Act 134 of 2016 makes the crime a first-degree felony with a maximum possible punishment of 10-20 years for repeat offenders.

Previously, a felon convicted of illegally possessing a gun faced a second-degree felony and a maximum sentence of five to 10 years.

The bill’s author, Rep. Todd Stephens (R-Montgomery), has said felons who illegally possess guns are the root cause of much of the gun violence on our streets.

WHAT? it's illegal for felons to have guns? why has that not stopped them up to now? we need stricter common sense gun laws .. just like stiffer sentences for illegal drugs stopped all that stuff.

Wanna make it good.. Convicted felon caught with a firearm.. cut off 6 fingers leaving only their pinky and thumb on both hands.. that way they can still feed themselves. but can't hold/shoot a firearm

Big deal. They can make the penalty as harsh as they want. Until there is a law to stop DAs from allowing the criminal to plea down the charge, nothing is going to change.

That's all good and well until some demosocialist libtard judge has the charge lowered or changed. There needs to be law put in place to prevent judges and DA's from lowering charges on crimes first before this law will EVER work!

How about they pass a law that doesn't allow the DA's to plead gun cases out to lesser crimes, and if they do, they get 10 years in jail?

So are crimes involving a gun more ore less illegal now?

If the felon has a Glock or other "plastic fantastic", there is definitely less ore needed to produce it. Now, if they use the ore to produce produce, that's a different industry entirely.
