    Default S&W 5906

$316 seems like a good price on these Police trades - $22 more for night sights. Love these generation Smiths

Excuse my ignorance, but can these be carried cocked and locked? How's the single action compared to a 1911?

    Thanks.....

    No mags, btw.....

Oh yeah, the extra $22 includes mag They are a de-cocker, a feature I personally really like.

I believe the early ones suffered galling of the slide and rails. You may want to keep it lubed.

I love my 5906, fits my hand perfectly and is a natural pointer (for me). It might be a bit heavy, but it is solid and has that good feel to it.

Galling was only a problem with the very early first generation model 59. By the time the 645, 559 etc... came on the market galling had been solved. It never hurts to keep your gun lubed with the proper lubricants though. Rig+P was an early entry into the stainless steel lubes but there are much better lubes now on the market like Mil-Comm TW25b. Oh yeah, the safety is a slide mounted hammer block safety and the gun has a magazine disconnect. It will not fire without the magazine (clip ) inserted.
