newbe question Legal to Conceal Carry in Philly if I have license? re 1st Class City
Hey guys, just signed up in quest for accurate info
I did a search of forums and downloaded the PA GUN RIGHTS pamphlet but cant find and don't have hrs to scourer each post for this answer.
My question is this: IF I HAVE A PA LIC TO CARRY, IS IT LEGAL TO CONCEAL CARRY IN PHILLY? Ive heard unofficial no's because its a 1st Class city??
(I do understand there are places off limits re govt schools and others listed in the pamphlet)
Thx in advance! and if anyone knows a definitive link that sites the Yes or No rule , please reference!

The only real difference with Philly and the rest of the state is that in Philly you need your LTCF even to open carry.
CC the rules are the same across the state, including PhillyRetired US Army

There's only Philly differences if you don't have your LTCF.

Re: newbe question Legal to Conceal Carry in Philly if I have license? re 1st Class C
§ 6109. Licenses.
(a) Purpose of license.--A license to carry a firearm shall be for the purpose of carrying a firearm concealed on or about one's person or in a vehicle throughout this Commonwealth.
Your Pennsylvania License to Carry Firearms is valid throughout the Commonwealth, which includes Philadelphia.
If someone tries to tell you otherwise, insist they back up their allegation with facts. Then, when they're done sputtering, remind them of what State Law says.

The only place I didn't go (the last time I was in Philly) with my pistol was the Liberty Bell- it's federal property. I took a picture of it from the outside.

To be very blunt, you should spend a lot of time searching for the correct answers from the correct sources. This forum is a great start but I suggest you read the actual crimes code regarding firearms. It is a dry and confusing read but I think it is important to see what is actually written. If,like most , you need clarification then there are many here who could help.
Welcome and good luck.
Here is a link just scroll down to firearms.
