Everyone else who has the issue I've been having for a while now, where the space bar doesn't work in the quick reply box, please reply to this thread.

Don't bother inserting spaces...just doing a head count.

Is there a fix for this, site owner?

It'sreallyannoying.

Its a web wide issue with VB forum software. Chrome seems to be the hardest hit with this issue and a lesser extent some other browsers. VB does not respond to requests to aid in fixing it as active support has been pretty much become non existent.
Many boards are looking to move to xenforo or other platforms.

I sometimes have the same problem using my Samsung Galaxy tablet. If the problem arises, I go back to the start of the message, hit the space bar which moves forward by one space. Then I put the cursor in front of the space I just made and I can type normally again.
