40 yard shot, high double lung, heart intact. Dropped in tracks, must have hit a vertebrae and shocked the spine. Zero meat loss. She came in alone but had a little milk. I'm guessing an early breeder. She looks old to me. CVA Pro Hunter 250 Grain Hornady SST. Two Pellets of 777 Magnum. Nikon Pro Staff 3-9.
    Nice job!

Looks like it's going to be wet and possibly some snow showers on Saturday.

    Good luck and have fun.

Well, I think it's safe to say that this early muzzle loading season is one for the book of suck. Spent all day in the woods yesterday. If I were hunting squirrels, I would have bagged out in about 5 minutes. Deer - NONE. The weather and the moon phase are not on our side. Bring on rifle season!!!

I agree that the deer have not been moving, but being out in the woods is reward enough for me. Plus there is still 3 weeks of Archery hunting and the weather looks to be changing just in time for the rut.

So, tonight's meal was (semi) fresh deer liver from Mondays kill.

Found this frag in the liver when I was eating.

Thought it was grizzle. Then it clanked when it hit the plate

Was the frag before or after cooking? Sucks when ya bite into something like that.

    After cooking, and while consuming.
Its pretty thin, and wasn't that hard. Just thought it was some grizzle.
