LTCF applied in Luzerne county today!
I went to apply for my LTCF today, walked up handed over the app my drivers license and 31 dollars, she typed some stuff up on a screen, gave me a receipt for my money, and took my picture. told me id get a call in a week I REALLY HOPE IT GOES AS SMOOTH AS THAT LADY MADE IT SOUND! I hear the horror stories of people waiting the max 45 days in other counties, a week i would be really surprised.

Update: Its 9/3/08, no call yet, its been 6 days *yawns* Please god, please dont let this take 45 days, it felt like 45 days already

Update: Its 9/4/08 Its been exactly one week nothing yet then again there open for another 45 minutes yet Lol i suppose when that lady said a week
she ment 7 business days, looks like im looking at about next weds if thats true

Update: its 9/16/08 I GOT IT ITS ALL MINE HAHAHAHAAHAHA!!!

In Luzerne county???? I walked out with mine in 15 min. However this may be the beginning of the sheriff's new policy.

yeah, its not instant anymore now they want to do more background checks, there's alot of stuff that slips threw the PICS checks turns out theres alot of people out there that got one that shouldnt have received one.

Yes, the Luzerne County Sheriff's Dept will be doing more comprehensive background checks.
I would not worry about Sheriff Savokinas taking the full 45 days, just because he can, as other SD's are doing.
He is very pro gun and is simply making necessary changes to the process.

*Sniffle** Still no call, i talk to my refs everyday, they still didnt even get a call from them or a number they dont even know. Insane insane, wow i hate waiting for this, its like you ordered something, you paid for everything in full, but there just out of stock

LOL I feel for you brother , I am going to turn mine in next week so I will be in the same boat , except I worry sooooooo much about everything that I will have an upset stomach and probably lose about 15 lbs and countless hours of sleep while Im waiting like you are right now. Hang in there !!!!!!!

I called my sheriffs dept. after 40 days becuse I hadn't heard anything. They did some checking and told me it was mis-filed and I should receive it in a couple of days. A week goes by and still no word. On the 47th day the sheriffs dept. contacted me and said they could not get a hold of my references. I gave them the phone numbers again and they were contacted. It was another full week after that before I finally received my LTCF. If you are worried, give them a call to see how things are going.

Just remember that when it is time to renew, Apply 45 days before the old one expires. this way you wont be without it.
