PA doe tags sold out bought up by PETA.
I was talking with a family member yesterday afternoon and I had stated I would like to try and get out in the field this year for rifle season with him. He advised me that there are no more doe tags left in Bucks county and said that a friend of his was told by a game official that PETA came in and bought up over 1K of the remaining tags state wide.
Is this even remotely possible?
I've never been deer hunting and every year I plan to go something comes up. Last November it was a week in the hospital and I'm still dealing with the aftermath of that. I received some good news from my surgeon this week and might be able to salvage this season but now it's not looking to good. If I were to purchase a license would I still get a buck tag at the very least?Join the GOA & save $5.00. https://www.gunowners.org/mac-subs-join-goa.htm

You get a buck tag with your license. The story about PETA buying up tags is just that, a story. You need to take Hunter Ed to get a license. Most doe tags sell out quickly. The PGC has looked into this rumor and while there might be an isolated case it's not happening.

Thanks and that's what I figured at 1st but I k is that similar things like this have happened in CA were half the members of the game commission are members of PETA. I have my hunters EDU so all I need is to get this year's license.

Here's an article from last year about a similar rumor: http://www.mcall.com/sports/outdoors...14-column.html

I was at a LGS, where the owner said a state trooper told him this is true.
Rumor Confirmed!
ETA:
Now Fudd's on the other hand.
There are "hunters" and sporstmen's groups that buy tags solely to keep other hunters from harvesting a doe, or at least in their minds.
Wouldn't surprise me in the least if they hit the over the counter sales just to screw other hunters.
Then there are the tag hoarders. The hunters that buy licenses for every relative they have, and have a wallet with 20 doe tags. They never harvest deer, but their intentions are good.
As usual, and with most groups, we are our own worst enemies.Last edited by God's Country; October 2nd, 2016 at 09:44 AM.

This rumor has been going on for at least 20 years. If they do buy thousands of tags consider it a donation. The PCG collects data on the heard size, the number of doe tags and the number of kills. If "hunter success" drops they start issuing more tags for the next quota.

You're gonna have to travel.
Good excuse to purchase a flintlock.
Go buy your general license, and if you don't get a buck, you can use your buck tag as an either sex tag during winter flintlock season.FUCK BIDEN
