?? PPK??
Buddy showed me a PPK looking pistol last week..it is .32 caliber, blue w wood grips, and the only Mfr markings are: Zella-Mehlis on the frame + a sreial number on the frame as well. . No Walther banner. It was in great shape and had a spare mag..holds about 7-8 rds of std .32 ball ammo he said. He said he thought it was a bring back from the war. Is it a walther? Why no banner?? help

Re: ?? PPK??
The Walther banner was put on commercial & export guns. Was this a military or wartime production gun?

Re: ?? PPK??
Pictures would be a great help. The description makes me think of some late war/post war oddball. Any proof or other small marks?

Re: ?? PPK??
A C on L side of slide above this: 1001-0- cal. 7.65
ZELLA-MEHLIS, GERMANY below the caliber
SEVERAL SMALL PROOF MARKS l SIDE OF SLIDE NEAR FINGER GROOVES:
Best I can do: a crown w a cross and an 'N' and some little thing wh looked like a eagle maybe. I dunno
He thought it was a wartime bring back, but it has
G.P.Trading, St Alb, VT stamped into frame on L side below mag disconn button

Re: ?? PPK??
If you look at it w the muzzle L, the marks are horizontal on the L side of the slide about over the mag release..the eagle in front but on its side, the crown w cross next but tipped on its side and the N last also on its side he said. ...the eagle looks like it has a "bottle up between the out stretched wings"
The small 'a' & the capital 'C' are also on the L side of the slide over the caliber 7.65 and they LOOK like the last one above, but the eagle is different.
It has smooth wood gripos held on by one screw wh goes from L to R grip
W that "G P Trading" stamp on the frame I am betting its not a bring back, but a late war Walther imported b4 1968 It has a nice blue finish and slide and frame are matching numbers, as it the one mag which came with it.
