    I made the mistake of thinking about it, and not telling them to hold it for me. I checked back last night and it had sold. That's what I get for hesitating

    A 3 digit serial number is not that special. You have to look at the suffix letter too. They started at 1-9999, then 1-9999A, then 1-9999B, then .......

    Yours is N.

    P-38 values can be $500 to $5000. Collectors know and put great premiums on the seemingly smallest variations or markings.

    in 62, was in Germany, for a short maneuver. at a NCO club in new ulm, one could purchase a clean, in the box p38 w/ 2 mags., for $25. never cared for the 9. fired one at a range the next day, buddy bought. it was really accurate. often think I had a brain freeze when I thought back.
