My 10/22 is eager to meet the 3 or 4 cottontails that have moved into the patch of hemlocks on my property

As much as I would love to take my scoped M1A or one of my M1 Garands hunting , I'm too much of a traditionalist to use a semi-auto. I'll stick with my Ruger No.1 single shot in 30-06.

But if there's gonna be a bunch of Fudd's out there spraying the woods , I'll probably just stay home. They're bad enough out there with manually operated repeaters.

This sounds Fudd-ish. A majority of other states allow semi auto hunting in some fashion and you don't hear about anything like you're imagining. If it was happening... you would most certainly hear about it.

Hasn't been a hunting season go by without a few getting shot on opening day on reg firearms season , and several throughout the season.

Can't recall any during muzzle-loader or archery though.

You use that word...I do not think that means what you think that means. Rather, it is the opposite. Such as your position.

    Be safe (and undivided).

Wait, is this actually an issue where the majority of this forum would be considered PROGRESSIVE rather than TRADITIONALIST.

On a personal level, I would mostly continue to hunt with my bolt action rifle even if semi-auto hunting passed. I'd even consider myself a proponent of such hunting. However, would the state then get rid of muzzle loader season and archery season, or would it add an early/extended season for bolt action hunters as well?

Yes, when it comes to hunting I'd probably be considered Fudd-ish, but I'm not 100% Fudd as I don't care how you hunt and woukd support your ability to hunt with semi-auto rifles if you choose. I also must lose some Fudd percentage points because I believe the "keeping and bearing arms" extends way beyond hunting.

I hope it passes so I can completely change my behavior in the fields and woods.

I'll need to scope my Garand if it passes.
