Walther Pistols ?
A friendly shooter at the range let me try out his Walther PPQ in .45 caliber a few weeks back. I really liked it, especially the trigger. Just saw an article in American Rifleman about it too and started doing some research online.
I had never shot a Walther before this but have to admit I'm interested to the point that I'm seriously thinking about buying one.
Anyone have one of these ? Pros ? Cons ? Reliability ?
Thanks

Re: Walther Pistols ?
I have an early Walther PPQ M1 in 9mm. I love it. It's very accurate, extremely ergonomic, has an outstanding trigger, and I've never had a jam/stoppage of any kind. I think of mine as a more ergonomic version of a Glock 19, 15+1 rounds in a reasonably small package that's still big enough to fight with. I'd imagine that the PPQ in 45 is equally awesome, but I have no personal experience with the 45 version.

Re: Walther Pistols ?
PPQ M2's here in 9mm. Best trigger reset on an affordable pistol right out of the box. Metal slide. Interchangeable grip straps. 17 round magazines. Don't know why, but the front sights on mine were put on backwards (the white dot was facing me) - it was an easy 5 minute fix, but I should have caught it before I left the shop.
Quite accurate - will eat any 9mm bullets (we've used 115's, 122's, 125's, 147's), cast or plated. Doesn't matter if they are low velocity or high velocity loads.
If you're a right-handed shooter, just be sure to keep your left thumb away from take-down "lever" and your right thumb off the slide release lever and magazine button.
No experience with their .45, so I'd better go read the article....Last edited by bamboomaster; September 23rd, 2016 at 08:15 PM.

Re: Walther Pistols ?
I have a PPQ .22, which I credit to improving my pistol shooting. If I didn't have a VP9, I'd also get a PPQ M1.
For whatever reason, Walther never seems to get the attention that every other manufacturer does, despite the awesome stuff they make. It's like they're only known for the PPK, and everything after that is forgotten.

Re: Walther Pistols ?
I have a PPS M2 9mm which is a very good shooter. I'd definitely buy another Walther.

Had a lot of fun with them when I was a kid but I kept losing the little plug that kept the water in......oh,wait...I thought you said "water" pistols!
Seriously, Walther has always made a quality weapon. It's one of those brand names that you rarely hear anything bad about.
