Question S&W Internal Locks on j frames?

Aside from being ugly, have any of you ever had any problems with the internal locks on Smith and Wesson revolvers? I saw a j frame with one.

No issues. A few hundred rounds through a used 637. Did not know it was there.

Mostly a bunch of internet hype.

Can't count how many rounds through my j-frame, zero issues.

The locks can be altered if it keeps you awake at night.

S&W Mod 627 N-frame. Just leave the lock unengaged and it is no issue.

I own a 642, as does my wife. On my 642, I removed the internal lock. My wife still has the lock on her gun.

Never a problem on my model 638.
Round count in the several thousands.

I'm a competitive revolver shooter. USPSA, ICORE, steel. I have many thousands of rounds through a 625, many thousands more through a 627, many thousands more though a 686+, and hundreds through a 360. I've had no issues with the locks and further, have never heard of an issue from my fellow competitors.

Anything made by man can fail, but I carry a lock gun for self defense with confidence.
