Default Do police know if you have ltcf

Waiting for my ltcf again ...
I carry regardless becuase my license was issued
I call the sheriffs department and they look me up in 30 seconds

Since I am on record for having a ltcf
    I carry

    My question is ...

Is there a way for police to look it up if I get pulled over ?
I don't want them to think I'm lying

My old license was revoked by the sheriffs department becuase it never came in
They issued me a new license and I'm waiting for it to come in

My fear is this one never comes in or "gets lost in the mail" again

    Thanks y'all

There is a phone number for law enforcement to call to verify the validity of the license that is listed on the license itself, but I don't think they can do it without the license number printed in the upper right hand corner.

If I were you, I'd wait until you have it in hand.

EDIT: I see you were asking about this before and stated that the Sheriff's Dept. told you that you can't pick it up at the office--I can't see why that would be the case. I would call them back and explain that it has been a month since the date it was supposedly issued and you still haven't received it. At the very least, make 100% sure they're sending it to the correct address.

I could be wrong, but you go down and pick up your license they don't mail it to you so I can't see how it was lost in the mail.

There are counties (mine, for example) where when you initially apply, they take your photo, do the background check, and then mail the license to you upon being approved. That was 10 years ago for me though, so things could have changed. The last time I renewed, they gave it to me right on the spot but when I turned 21 and intially applied, it was mailed to me.

a week ago they revoked my "old" license becuase it never came in the mail
They told me the new license should be here in 2 weeks
A week has elapsed so I'm hoping within a week the new one should be here
I guess I had to pass another background check and everything
But the good thing is they didn't charge me atleast

Long story short they said it should be at my house in 1-2 weeks
It's been a week already and I'm already apprehensive this one isn't coming too

Unfourtunatly, they mail the licenses out in Northampton county
But if the next one doesn't come I'm gunna see if I can pick it up
But I'm not sure if they'll allow it
I asked them to send this license out through certified mail
I verified my address with them
I contacted the post office and they have no record of the last license
And my license was never mailed back to the courthouse

If this one doesn't come within the two weeks Im gunna be paranoid
That means I have 2 ltcf's floating around out there somewhere

So if they don't get me the 2nd license I don't know what else to do
I guess what I could do is call the sheriffs department and ask them if I can have my card number

Unfourtunatly I carry regardless I live in a bad area and I hope to move soon
So I'd like to make it out of here in 1 piece
I don't go out at night and things of that nature I take every precaution possible

This is my first go around with the ltcf process
The secretary I talk to is very polite but it seems as if I get on her nerves with all my questions

    Thanks for the quick replies

You would have to go down and get your picture taken. After that they give you your license right then and there, after you pay. That is how Montgomery county works at least.

Unfortunately Impulse1215 Not every county does instant issue. There are still those who mail out the license at a later date.

And those that only mail you a notice that it's ready approved and make you come back in to get your photo and pick it up (e.g. Delaware County)

Yeah it's a major pain dealing with it coming through the mail
It'd be safer to just go and pick it up at the sheriffs department
That way you don't run the risk of loosing it in the mail
im kinda apprehensive just thinking about who could possibly have my ltcf
And what they'd even use it for
Also the original I never got was revoked so I hope they get caught with it

I used to work for 911, we had a system called "javalin". It can be used to pull up your LTCF info. I brought up my concerns about it. Some agreed but said it was a necessary evil. Did that job all of a month.
