Since the above posted definition of "vehicle" as used in the statute says " A conveyance in or on which...." I think it's safe to say the courts would rule that it doesn't matter if you're "in or on" the vehicle.

What about horses and ostriches? Can I ride an ostrich and carry a loaded pistol without an LTCF?

(Black's Law Dictionary does not address the vehicle meaning as found in Merriam-Webster)
