    Default New Firearm purchase

Hello, I am thinking about buying a new firearm. I want to stay in the handgun area and I want to stay in the 500 to 600 dollar range. Right now I carry a Star Ultrastar 9mm with a 3.5 inch barrel. I could plan on keeping the Ultrastar and buying a BUG but I am not sure what to do. Any suggestions?

    I am thinking of sticking with the 9mm round or going to a .45acp. I was thinking a g30 or a g26.

Note: This isn't intended to be an advertisement for any dealer, just a means of seeing whats available.

Go Here and find a local dealer to you, then use the search feature to see what they have in your chosen calibers and price range. That'll give you a starting point for what you're looking for and help you narrow down your options.

So it looks like (from you sig line) that you have a bug. I would think about going with the g19 if you would want to stay with the 9mm (I suggest this cause i own a 9mm and shoot it often due to the lower ammo cost). There was just a thread about the sub compact glocks.... I will try and dig it up for you.....
I suggest a g19 because you could use it as a primary carry or a BUG. You could carry it as a primary and keep the p-11 as your BUG...

I do like the 9mm and I was thinking the Glock 17(because that is what I will be firing when I go to the Police academy in the spring). But I want an american made/originated round like the .45acp. So that is why I am leaning towards a .45. I was thinking the Glock 30 or the Springfield Xd in a .45acp. I am just looking for opinions. Thank you

Don't forget the Smith M&P line! They just came out with a .45 that is pretty damn sexy!

This is just a shot in the dark: Are you ging to the PSP academy in the spring? If so, you will be using a glock in 45 gap. Why not buy that if not I would buy the gun and caliber you will be training with ( practice with what you will use). Just my 2 cents Joe
    P.S. good luck at school

S&W M&P line, you won't be sorry. I have an M&P, and it will take anything I feed it. Super comfortable, perfectly balanced and extremely accurate. About 2000 rounds through already, with "zero" fails. Great gun, you won't be sorry.

I have their PT140, 1000+ rds thru it and no issues at all. If you go with the PT??? make sure you get a third generation, 1st and 2nd gen they had some recurring problems. You can tell the diff by the trigger, DAO is 1/2; SA/DA is 3rd gen.
