S + W 1066
My local shop has a Smith + Wes. 1066, (stainless, 10mm) for $580. It looks like it has never been used. I can't find a mark on it. I looked closely at the barrel inside + out. There are no "scuffs" where it moves in and out, as said no marks at all. Is this a reasonable price for this gun. I know they R no longer made and I'm a fan of 10s. Please advise.

Re: S + W 1066
Those guns are bringing $500- $700 depending on condition. If you like the condition of this gun, have the money, and really want it....I say buy it.
A few years from now there will be someone like you that will buy it if you ever decide to sell.
Quality firearms with a quality name that are taken care of will almost always gain or hold value. In today's times its better than money in the bank. The Colt pistols I purchased new in the early 90's are worth 10-20% MORE now used....thats better than most folks 401K plan has done.
Buy, shoot and keep it nice. You can always sell later if you have to or want to.

Re: S + W 1066
S&W were having some quality control issues during the time that the 1066 was manufactured. A good friend of mine was given one by the S&W Rep. in trade for some work on his house. It went back to Smith 2 or 3 times before they got the timing right. It took a new crane to straighten it out.

Don't know much past what I said Jerry sold it as soon as Smith got it fixed. It was a nice looking gun but the cylinder would only turn about half way then bind up. They should have caught it at the factory

OOPS I was thinking of the 10mm wheelgun that they made in the 80's. I thought it was a 1066. It was a 610. Sorry

I have a 610-3 (new production 2008), it's been great to me so far.
