Id like to buy one but they are pricey. For now, I use a 1/2" copper pipe taped to the factory
plastic tube. It holds 8o something 9mm.

I have a Dillon case feeder on my 650. It's certainly a nice luxury to have. I toss about 2 hand fulls of 9mm brass in. You can't fill it or the drive will slip due to the weight (no damage done, it's designed like that). The different case feeder plates are pricey but there aren't many to buy. Very seldom does it feed one upside down. Even more rarely does it get a little jam up at the funnel. Any issues I've had can be cleared up in a second. Overall, a good buy that makes case feeding simpler.

Josh,
Can you tell me how the case lands onto the plate? Does this eliminate manually pushing the case into the stage? I just cannot picture how it operates.
Bogey, can you take a photo of your set up?

In this annoyingly long video, I think this guy explains what you want to know around the 9:00 point: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9tNpj3BTqZw
The 650 is set up for case feeding without the electronic case feeder from the get go, so I can only speak to the way the 650 is set up by design, and it is a very smooth case feeding process. It looks like the retrofit kit for the 550B provides a similar mechanical design. In America arms are free merchandise such that anyone who has the capital may make their houses into armories and their gardens into parks of artillery. - Ira Allen, 1796

I also have a 650 with the case feeder. I love it and if you reload a lot it will save your arms a lot of wear and tear. I load about 450 to 500 rounds an hour without hurrying.

On the 650 you don't touch a case unless you get an upside down case or a bad case once it's in the casefeeder. I'd assume the 550 is similar except you have to index it manually. I will not load volume ammo without one anymore. The worst part of reloading was stopping to add 23 cases into a tube. Now I throw two or three handfuls in and let it rip. When the primer alarm goes off I fill primers and repeat the case feed fill. It's worth the money if you plan on reloading a huh volume in own sitting or if you want to load a lot quickly.
