The line is incredibly looooong for its grand opening today....I'll try again later.
If you guys get in and browse, let us know how it is.

Just saw the ad in yesterdays paper. I'll probably stop in the next time I venture over to Tanner's.

Don't worry, the over priced items will still be there when the line goes away.

It doesn't hurt to stop in now and then... sometimes the over priced ammo is on sale at a good price

I walked around for about a half hour and this is what I saw.

    $50 Glock mags
    PMags for $15+
Various weights and styles of 5.56 and .223 ranging from $.40-.$50/round
    Bunch of cheap glass
A few pieces of good glass tagged at MSRP

All in all, it's like Cabela's: overpriced and crowded. It's fine if you need something in a pinch but otherwise a drive 20-30 minutes away lands you at a number of other local stores that will have better prices and service plus employees that know what they are selling.

They have sales on ammo once in a while that are worth while as already stated. A few times they had guns on sale that competed with online pricing, but that is rare. Also the used long gun and handgun rack is worth at least checking out. I got a Sig 228 for 400$ one time, but again mostly overpriced

I looked around about 2:00 PM, September 8 and inquired about their gunsmith. I was told the gunsmithing work is performed in Williamsport so I left and went to Mason Arms. It looked like they had a nice selection of firearms.

I went there for the first time today too. Decent selection but like others have said prices are full retail (or more). It was nice to see multiple displays of .22's from 6-7 cents a shot. Lets hope it stays that way.

Firearms wise I was not that impressed. New guns were the going rate but the used prices made me shake my head......$600 Yugo SKS's and an Enfield model 1 for $900! They did look clean from across the counter but no way was I going to ask to see them at that price.

I was at Tanners right before I checked out Gander and I made a mental note to compare some of their prices. For new firearms Tanners prices were either the same or better (some of Tanners specials were MUCH better). It was harder to directly compare used items but from what I saw I am sure Tanners has them beat. I did not see one thing that was cheaper at Gander.

I am only 15 min away so I will probably go again for small things I need in a hurry. I would not recommend driving an hour to see it though.
