Ok, I read the news story, now it makes a little more sense.
These guys really screwed up big-time.
Whomever made the decision to use a real gun for the demonstration is at fault.
Whomever then gave the loaded gun to the officer that fired it is at fault.
And the officer that fired the gun is at fault for not verifying that the real gun was properly loaded with blanks.
It will be interesting to see where this goes.
My thoughts and prayers to the victim and her family.

Maybe it was no accident. Did the victim have information that would be detrimental to Hildabeast???

No word yet if charges will be filed against the officer.

    Finally charges are filed: http://www.wptv.com/news/state/annou...-investigation

The State Attorney office announced Wednesday that Officer Lee Coel is being charged with a 1st degree felony manslaughter with a firearm in the shooting and killing of Mary Knowlton. He has turned himself in at the county jail and has been arrested and processed.

Chief Tom Lewis is being charged with 2nd degree misdemeanor culpable negligence.
I hope that they actually get the punishment they deserve.

I feel horrible for the woman's family. This shouldn't have happened. It was 100% preventable.

The point of prison is rehabilitation. The only thing to be gained at this point is vengeance. Sounds pretty pointless to me.

IMO, the point of prison is punishment. The woman was killed due to the complete negligence of the officer involved and the chief that was in charge of the officer. They both deserve to be punished accordingly under the law.

If it were run by the book, that woman would not have been shot.

During the demonstration, she was inexplicably hit with a live round
No, she was SHOT BY A COP!

That round didn't just appear out of thin air, inexplicably.

    The officer whose weapon discharged
The officer who shot the woman...

It is not clear why a loaded weapon was used in the exercise...
Basic safety procedures were not followed...
