What optics to put on a cheap AR build ?
So I have an upper from Del ton and a Anderson lower which ran me in The neighborhood of like $480 for a complete gun. My question is what optics would you put on a cheap ar like this ?

Do you want magnification or red dot?

Re: What optics to put on a cheap AR build ?
I just got a Holosun red dot for my AR pistol that I'm really liking. They seem relatively new to the market. Many models to choose from & you can find them on Amazon. I got the 503C model which give you the option to switch between a small 2moa dot & a larger 65moa circle dot, runs on a 2032 battery rated for 50000 hours or like 5 years continuous on. Plus it has a solar panel, which extends battery life and auto selects reticle brightness.
Comes with both a high & low mount, and a bikini cover. Nutnfancy did a nice review on Youtube which how I discovered it. They are half the price of the Tier one red dots like aimpoint.
If you want to go magnified I think something like a 1-4x is best suited for the AR. I know the Vortex line seems popular. I have a Burris TAC30 I think it's called. You can still use it like a red dot at 1x, and most of them have BDC reticles.

Re: What optics to put on a cheap AR build ?
I'll have to keep an eye on this thread because I'm eventually going to want to add a red dot to one or two rifles.
I have a Primary Arms Micro Dot I got on Black Friday about 3 or 4 years ago for some stupid low price like $69 or $79 including the lower 1/3 cowitness riser.
Not bad, but I want something I can either leave on all the time, or is somehow easier to turn on than turning the knob to one of the brightness levels.I called to check my ZIP CODE!....DY-NO-MITE!!!

Holosun rep: "We are getting 50 thousand hours on a 2032 battery set at medium brightness"
How long has Holosun company been in business and how long have they been making that model? 50k hours is 5.7 years, 24-7.
