Irons, i wouldn't put a cheap red dot on a AR unless it's for a 22. Save up and get a Aimpoint PRO. Best red dot for the money.

Just saw that another member posted a link in the general forum to a new 1-8x from Primary Arms. If I were looking for a good all around scope at a decent price I'd have to seriously consider this one.

I did a little digging, though admittedly not enough to state anything for fact, so take this for what it's worth. I believe that they are actually an OEM maker for a few other companies which include a red dot line rebranded as Primary Arms, Sig & possibly TruGlo. So they have been lurking in the shadows for some time.

An optic that costs more money, does not necessarily mean it is of more quality.

Therefore a less expensive optic necessarily mean it's of lesser quality.

Typically, you get what you pay for, especially with glass.

Odd.... I tried a lucid hd7 ($225)and it couldn't hold a zero for anything, switched over to a PA mds ($150) and it holds a zero perfectly fine. Granted it's not at nice as my aimpoint, but I'd still rock the PA over an eotech.

Why not have both? I have an elite 4200 1.25x4 power scope with a red dot. At low power and red dot on, it is fast on target. My favorite deer hunting scope, and I like it on my AR too.
