Question [for kicks and giggles] The CZ cult? Anybody part of "it"?

So I walk into a gun shop recently and I look around the place (store name is not relevant) for Sig Sauer and CZ pistols.

A young sales clerk (very friendly and helpful) tells me upon hearing of my interest in CZ pistols -- explains that his store does not get a lot of CZ firearms and "btw CZ has sort of a cult following." I chuckled and smiled and we continued to talk about other things.

After the encounter I started to wonder if there is some merit to the idea. I have found that shops and people tend to know about CZ or CZ is off their radar (people more so that gun shops.)

Anybody here part of this CZ cult and if so...how did you join? And why?

I have owned and currently own quite a few and yes they are excellent pistols many due to their very low bore access due to the internal rails on the slide. Cult following? That I do not see or believe exists it's just that we live in a World, of Glocks, S&W, and 1911's so CZ's are highly underrated and often over looked. When I lived in NJ there was a Shop/range that I used to request on a weekly basis since I knew the owners son and they stocked and sold many different CZ's in all the major calibers.

I was originally looking for a double stack 9mm that I could get my tiny hands around. I had heard here that EAA Witnesses were pretty nice and I ran into one at a decent price at a gun show. I was also comparing it to a CZ 75 compact at the same show. I went with the CZ.

I ended up selling it but just recently bought a CZ P-07 and love it even more.

I do not think there is any brand of gun that does not have it's own subculture (cult). Some are just more out there than others!

These are not necessarily mutually exclusive except among the hard core cognoscenti.

Looking for input from a member named Brian who, I know is very knowledgeable on things CZ!

I started with a surplus CZ52, just because I always liked them. Then I handled an 82 at lgs and it fits my hands perfectly. Most recent purchase was a Tri star cz clone and it fits and points very naturally for me also. Now I'm thinking a 75b and maybe a 97 might be in my future.

I'm not a fan of polymer guns either, but the P07/09 seem similarly nice to me. If I was going to get another Tupperware wonder I'd probably go that route.

I still love my 1911's, but CZ's are starting to take a warm place my heart right next to them.

They're not very well known outside of the gun culture. They're not often featured in the most popular video games either, so their exposure is relatively small to the general public.

I recently joined the Cult of the Scorpion...

    Seems like a nice gun.

Need to put a few through it, maybe this weekend...
