Sounds like that's just the manner he enjoys carrying in. Would you be equally pissed if someone was carrying a single action revolver with a cowboy hat? If someone was decked out in 5.11 Tactical clothes and a drop leg holster?

I can't wait till it gets cooler so I can carry my Blackhawk in a cowboy rig and wear my tony llama's. Guess I need a hat too.

Props to live and let live. You are correct.

I'm not real sure why the whole episode irritated me so much - I think in my head I was flashing forward to him being cited for not knowing the rules and making those of us that are responsible look bad.

At any rate I'll continue to leave mine at home when attending the carnival since it seems like it is most likely considered to be on school grounds.

    Thanks for the input.

I would think that the right thing to do if one were actually concerned would be to quietly ask him if he knew he was doing something wrong by being on school grounds. Not everyone is aware of that, especially when it comes to parochial schools. He may have thought he was just on church grounds.

If he gives you a "constitution motherfucker" answer then just smile and walk away.

Yup, pretty much as far as possession without a direct nexus to a school activity/task:
