Have you stepped up on you carry, OC or CC?

I've been transitioning back to CC lately and always carry a spare 17 round mag for the G19 on my body plus a few spare high and higher capacity mags in the truck bag. I also started carrying the Streamlight ProTac 2L on my body.

Since our area has been getting more and more burglaries lately my wife has been asking for some more time at the range and some safety drills around the house especially with the addition of the little one last year.

I've started carrying my LCP as a back up gun more often, my primary carry is a CZ 75 D PCR with a spare mag. And I'm getting some stuff together for a response bag (first aid supplies, airway, tourniquet, etc.,,), I used to always carry one in my truck while I was in the military, but stopped when I had to turn all that stuff back in. If anything major has changed, I am trying to consciously be more aware of my surroundings.

As an aside, how to we reconcile telling antis that gun ownership is at an all time high while violent crime of all types continues to drop, with the feeling that we need to "step up" our carry?

If given a choice between spouting rhetoric and doing the right thing to protect me and mine which do you think I'm going to choose?

IDK how Terrorism falls into the Crime stats kept by the FBI. I feel there is a huge difference between burglars and your everyday petty criminals, murders and rapists. While those crimes may be on the down side, Terrorism is on the upswing. IMO BLM is no better than the Black panthers, ISIS or the KKK!

I'd like to work an extra reload into my carry routine or possibly a backup gun. I most frequently carry A) a Glock 26 with one spare mag or B) a Taurus 85 Ultra-Lite with two spare speedloaders. Carrying a 15 or 17 round reload for the Glock 26 might be easier to implement than a second 10 round magazine. I could probably work in another speedloader or speed strip for the Taurus, however. One thing I haven't tried is carrying both A (strong side IWB) and B (cross draw IWB) together, and I have some concerns on how easily I could conceal both at the same time.

It's funny I just stumbled on this thread. I just switched out my carry from a Kahr PM9 with three 7 round mags to a Glock model 22 with two 15 round magazines. Yes, it was because of recent stories in the news.
