Ever Feel Like You're Moving Backwards?
Ever buy a gun, shoot it great the first time and then get worse every time after that? Today was utter shit with the LC9S. It's my EDC so I felt uneasy loading the HPs back into the magazines and carrying it after that ... I left it empty and took my chances while driving home. Shot pretty well the AR and revolver though. Odd. Seems backwards to me that I'm getting worse with it as I get more familiar with the gun. What do you think? I'll probably go shoot after work one day this coming week to try and redeem myself.

Re: Ever Feel Like You're Moving Backwards?
Everybody has good days and bad days shooting a particular firearm. If you shot it well once or twice, you will do so again.
When I shoot, I waste a couple cylinders or mags full of ammo to get myself "settled" and accustomed to sights, trigger pull, recoil, etc. so that I don't anticipate the shots or "pull" them. If I've fired a particular firearm worse than usual, I set it aside and move to the next one, and return to that firearm later in the session. Most times I then shoot it better. The older I get, the less caffeine I can tolerate and still get good groups, so step away from the Red Bull, too.
No need to feel more miserable than usual.

That happens to me every once in a while, especially if it's been too long in between range sessions.
I always go back to working on the fundamentals. Grip, stance, sight alignment, trigger control and follow through. If I have to, I'll sit down on the bench and shoot supported with a .22 until I figure out exactly what I'm doing wrong.

Re: Ever Feel Like You're Moving Backwards?
I had a lot of frustration when I hit a wall with my g19s. Somewhere it was suggested to shoot different guns for awhile. So I shot a lot of revolver, DA and SA. Different grip and trigger manipulation. That made me focus on solid grip and straight back trigger press. When I returned to the g19, it was better. It even helped my rifle shooting.
