Re: Maryland police took my friend's handgun. Can he get it back?
Well the thing is, it's his DAD who has all the money. He doesn't get much from them anymore, only when he gets into more trouble. (LOL) He knows I know more about firearms than him and asked me if there some process he could get it back, I said I'd look into it but doubtful. And again, the lawyer wants more $ than the gun is worth.
As far as if it's legal for him to possess anymore, I'm not sure.. good question though-jFw

Must be nice to be able to completely shrug off he dodges 5 years in a MD prison most likely in or around Baltimore and be able to worry about a stupid run of the mill production pistol you can buy used for $350.00.

For what he would spend in attorney fees, court costs, etc he could probably buy 100 guns! Cut your losses and count your blessings.

He could buy an M11/9 on a form 4 for less time and money than it'd cost him to get that XD back.

Re: Maryland police took my friend's handgun. Can he get it back?
All he had to do was have the pistol in a carry case without a mag in it and he would have been fine- as long as he could not reach the magazine. Having a loaded pistol in a car in Md is suicide if you get caught. Md is full of asshole laws and the Cops can be real dicks too. Everyone is uptight in that state. The whole state pays the price for 4 counties. Damn shame and I am so glad to be out of that shit hole.

This guy is a LOSER.
I'd rather have a gun in my hand then a cop on the phone.

Is he a responsible gun owner?

+1. You need to know the laws in every state when you have firearms. A brain fart could cost you your rights to own and could get you put in jail.
