    Question CZ 75 B--what happened

I only put about 500 rounds through it, and now after the last round goes down range, the slide doesn't stay open. Am I not cleaning or oiling it right. Any ideas?

Is this pistol new to you, or have you shot a CZ 75 before this? My guess is you are riding the slide stop lever while shooting. Shoot it while consciously keeping your thumbs away from the frame.

Does it happen with all the magazines?

I'm thinking mags or mag springs too.

I would start with the mags, and change out the mag springs with Wolff +5%. Also clean, and lube the pistol well and make sure there is no crude in the slide stop.

I always ride the slide stop. The mag springs are some of the softer ones I've felt. Jamming 18 into the SP-01 mags is a non-issue. Take that thumb off the stop and/or buy some heavy duty springs! Check out CGW's PRO carry package.

are you using factory ammo? i had problems with mine using lead ammo I reloaded. I will admit they were crappy reloads as it was when I first started.... I guess I am asking in a roundabout, polite way, if your reloads are crappy too.

This is a good thought too. Have you chrono'd your ammo?

I dont have a chrono. The problem had more to do with the way I was belling (or not belling enough) the case mouth. It was shaving lead sometimes and would cause malfunctions. I read that the CZ's tend to have a tighter chamber and are more susceptible to this type of problem.

Question was for OP Don, but good information nonetheless! CZs do have tighter, and often shorter, chambers. For this reason, I tend to crimp a little tighter and load to about 1.135" max COAL. I've also found that the CZs have no problem digesting plated bullets which is good on the wallet!
