Getting fingerprints taken by a law enforcement agency
As required for renewal of my Florida non-resident carry permit, how can I arrange to have fingerprints taken by a LAW ENFORCEMENT AGENCY (their capital letters) ? I'm in Philadelphia, so not expecting to find any help there. Thanks.

As long as you go to the PSP barracks that serves the area you reside in, you should be good to go.

If you read foot note#1
~snip~ and the
individual resides in a PSP service area
FWIW, I needed to accomplish the same thing for my FFL, and I would not rate the experience as 5 star, hell I wouldn't even give it 3 stars, and I am retired PSP."It seems that the Constitution is more or less guidelines than actual rules"

Re: Getting fingerprints taken by a law enforcement agency
I went to a local police station, (western part of PA) and said I needed my finger prints taken, they never asked why, a few dollars and it was done. Things are different out here in the "wild west".

Also check your local courts. Washington County has a booking center that will print you for whatever you want for $20.

Re: Getting fingerprints taken by a law enforcement agency
Thanks for the replies so far guys. It's confirmed that the PSP will not do fingerprints for out of state permits unless you live in a area that is primarily served by the Pennsylvania State Police. That rules out Philadelphia residents. There must be a local solution to this. There are thousands of Philadelphia and Suburban County residents who hold non resident permits from Florida. Is there a friendly sheriff's office in one of the Philadelphia Suburban counties that would do this?

I walked into the local police station in Avon on the Jersey Shore and they did it for free and never asked why. I did not even live in that town.

Call Drexel, Penn and Temple... They all have police departments in Philadelphia and they may do it for you.
