House Plans Vote on Guns Next Week
House Plans Vote on Guns Next Week
Ryan tells members package would prevent suspected terrorists from buying guns
http://www.rollcall.com/news/politic...guns-next-week
The House will vote on a counter-terrorism package that will include a provision to prevent suspected terrorists from buying guns, Speaker Paul D. Ryan, R-Wis., told Republicans on a conference call Thursday, according to a source on the call.
The House, when it returns next week from its July 4 recess, will also vote on a mental health bill , sponsored by Pennsylvania Republican Rep. Tim Murphy, Ryan told his House colleagues.
Republicans believe terrorism and mental illness have been leading causes of most mass shootings.
Ryan's decision comes a week after Democrats disrupted House activities in a nearly 26-hour sit-in demanding action on gun control. It's unclear whether Ryan's proposal would include the broad "no fly, no buy" proposal Democrats have supported or a more limited version endorsed by the National Rifle Association.

On the call, Ryan said it common sense that suspects on terror watch lists not be able to buy guns, but he wants to be sure that any provision protects due process for people who may mistakenly be added to such lists.
With Democrats vowing to continue their protests , House GOP leaders are considering their options on how to proceed, Ryan said on the phone call.
Ryan told his colleagues that they are getting recommendations from the sergeant-at-arms and the parliamentarians, and that House Republicans will take any actions they deem necessary, according to the source on the call.In a time of universal deceit, telling the truth is a revolutionary act. Their plan is just to keep beating on us and wearing us down. And I'm not gonna lie I am getting tired. Not going to give up the fight ever, but this constant barrage makes me weary. Think I'll go make another contribution the NRA

I am not sure how this all will work out but right now
it seems that the democrats have again won using their
stupid, stupid sit-in!
The House is control by the republicans but there sure are times
when it's hard to tell.
Is anyone going to be "Charged" in the House for the sit-in nonsense? In a time of universal deceit, telling the truth is a revolutionary act. George Orwell

Man oh man I hear ya'...debating on FB, posting on forum after forum, posting in the comments section, contacting Reps and letters to the editor. Then there's the fighting with the in-laws---
However, one thing is for sure. I get right to the point and "force" this idiots to dispute facts and logic. Several years ago I was much more "tolerant" and respectful and even quiet in my opinion---not so much anymore. I really care more about the people listening (to the debate) to these lies that don't hear the other side more than the person I'm debating with---
The most frustrating thing is how people buy into the narrative and BS--That's what shocks me more than anything."I prefer dangerous freedom over peaceful slavery." Thomas Jefferson

Yet each time they try to push their agenda down our throats and fail to do so, their agenda gets pushed back in time, and the meantime , firearm sales increase, the NRA membership grows, and the more resolute we become. If their plan is to keep beating us down and wearing us down, their perverted attempt has been a failure.
