    Default FBI Selects Glock Pistol

    Contract Award Date:
    June 29, 2016

    https://www.fbo.gov/index?s=opportun...ba0ef&_cview=0

Federal Bureau of Investigation has selected the Glock pistol as their new sidearm. In contrast to the US Army’s plodding attempt to find a new service pistol, the FBI’s program for a 9mm replacement took just nine months from issuing the solicitation to industry to award. The contract ceiling is $85 million.

Ten years ago I would have concluded that they found the Glock to be the superior sidearm.

Now, considering the Bureau has failed to yet conclude that Hillary is a treasonous banshee, and now covered up the Orlando terrorist attack and general LE response clusterfuck, I suspect ulterior motives in the selection.

Why have I become so cynical?

Which Glock? The 17 or the 19? I'm impartial to the size of the 19.
Also, PA state police should go back to the Glock and 9mm because God damnit the 227 and 45 ACP is expensive as hell and that's our tax dollars being spent on that.

I thought the Glock didn't meet their bid spec (out of the box) because of finger groves, among other things?

The Glock model(s) they are getting isn't commercially available and doesn't have finger grooves.

There are still a few state agencies that issue the Glock 21 Gen 4.

Part of the contract is for full size and compact... so both the 17 and 19
