    Default OMG.. Twins!

LOL, I got my Austrian and Hungarian M.95 Carbines tonight. I can't wait to shoot them. I will add better pictures when I get get some in the sunlight but I am following the "pics or you don't have them" rule.

I also have two bayonets to go with them so they are getting prepped for pics as well.

Cripes. Buying guns in pairs... why didn't I think of that?

So far, so good... I'll wait for more photos and details.

You have ammo for them? The price of the Nazi marked stuff is the same as Hornady's loads now! A buck a shot. I'd rather should reloadable stuff.

Do your rifles have the tall front sights? If so, they were issued to the police. I discovered the hard way that you need to flip the sight up and set on the lowest setting for 100yds. It's originally set for 300 but the tall sight takes care of the difference. Make sure the bolt is fully locked in. Let us know how they shoot.

$59 and $67 plus $10 ea for the bayonets. I think it was only around $13 for shipping so I think it was a great bang for the buck.

And now you can feed them, if you can find it. Impact Guns and SG are both sold out. Supposedly, you can use 7.62x54r brass and reform it.

EDIT: Sorry, didn't see your response. Have fun reloading, then -- seems the only way with these, and yes, they have a healthy kick with normal loads.

No problem King. I had actually cancelled my first order for one of these from SG back when I found out they didn't have any ammo available. Since finding a source for ammo and getting tips from folks on this forum on what to get to reload, I was able to pick them up.

FYI, I shot both yesterday. I don't aim the 1st shot, I just put it in the bench rest and shoot with my face away from the bolt on the fist shot of all milsurp guns (just a peace of mind thing for me).

Anyway, at 100yds, I was shooting at a 6" Dirty Bird target and by gosh, I was 4 out of 4 on each rifle. You are right that they kick like a sumbeeotch! I didn't wear a recoil pad so I felt it. I snapped a picture of the target so I'll post it up as soon as I pull it off the camera. My only complaint is that the action is very difficult to work and it has trouble picking up the last round from the clip.

I got vid clips of my 9yr old shooting them too. For some reason, he thought the Steyr kicked much harder than the Hungarian version. He shot 3 rounds out of the Hungarian M95 and only 1 from the Steyr.

I do the same 1st shot on any "new" rifle too. I also agree that the bolts are tough to operate. It's sure not Swiss quality. I normally don't grease the bolt internals, just oil, but did in this case. It seemed to make a difference. I discovered that if you slam the action open and closed it worked better. These are fun accurate rifles and you can't beat the price.
