Default GAME: Guess All The Incorrect Facts in PhillyMag's PA "Gun Facts" Article

    Here's the "fact" article:
    http://www.phillymag.com/news/2016/0...ania-gun-laws/

    I'll start off:

    1) The gun used in the Orlando shooting was not an AR-15. It's not even an AR-15 "replica".

    2) Most states do not require a separate license to purchase a firearm. That's actually a very unusual requirement (New Jersey requires this, but they're an outlier).

    3) License for ammo? That's just sillystupid. No state does that. (Well, not any state that really matters)

    4) Long guns DO get a background check when they're purchased at FFL dealers. That is the same process for the "7 minutes to get an AR-15" hot-take story the Daily News ran. It's only at gun shows where a long gun doesn't need to go through the standard trope and PIP (Person In-Person) transfers, ala "back of the pickup", driveway sales. Handguns DO require the 4473/PICS in all arms-length sales transactions in PA.

    5) The NRA statistics are really out of date. First off, when PA was the "#1 NRA state", it was the No. 1 state per capita of residents, which has to do with our very large hunting population. That population has declined and it led to us being overtaken. We're no longer the No. 1 state in either per-capita and in total NRA membership count. Either way: who cares? Vermont is a fairly low per-capita state and their gun laws are actually more liberal than ours.

    Any more?

If facts actually mattered, they wouldn't be journalists.
Rules are written in the stone,
Break the rules and you get no bones,
all you get is ridicule, laughter,
and a trip to the house of pain.

I'm not sure exactly what you meant, but the laws are no different at gun shows than anywhere else. Even if you have a point (I didn't get it), there is no reason to single out gun shows because it just promotes the "gun show loophole" myth. It's meaningless and not helpful.
