Default Who else shoots 41 Mag??

I really enjoy double action revolvers. I recently acquired a beaut of a Dan Wesson 741 Mag. Pac 4",6",8" barrels, with brass bullets etc. I have only had the opportunity to get this work of functioning art to the shooting range twice and have gotten it nice and sooty both times, shooting light reloads (1100fps) with Unique and Trail Boss to near max with 300-MP and H-110 (1400fps+slightly sticky cases). Who else shoots 41 Mag? I have since acquiring the Dan Wesson, decided I want a Ruger Redhawk in 41 Mag and found my talisman. Is 41 Mag the BEST EVER revolver caliber? Can I get a witness for 41 Mag? Can anyone articulate why I prefer Ruger Redhawk and Dan Wesson revolvers over Smiths??

it's not the best, it's lack of popularity shows that.
    i have a 41, i like it, i shoot it, i prefer 44 mag over it.
    there's something wrong with you.

Budweiser and Coors light are popular, does that make them better than TROEGS or Weyerbacher or Bells? I have 44 Mags also, I like them a lot, why do you like 44 Mag more than 41? I already know I have issues, thanks, so what 41 Mag do you have?

I've been shooting 41 mag for close to 30 years and it has never left me wanting more. If, someday, I decide I need more horsepower I would skip the various 44's and go straight to a 45.

There may not be as many bullet choices for the 41 but it's hard to beat a good Keith SWC anyway.

I have two S&W model 57s. One with 6" and one 8 and 3/8th" barrels. I will not give these up. Excellent flat shooting and I have been reloading 0.41 Specials for years. Picked up some of the first run of Starline 0.41 special cases and then some more earlier this year as Starline now carry them as a regular item. Although I have a comparable Model 29 in 8 3/8ths, I will stick to the Model 57. Dave_n

I really like my .41, I got a great deal on a nice 57-1 last year around my birthday. I knew I'd have a hard time finding ammo for it but I'd been missing an N frame in my collection. I could probably trade my 57 for a 29 for the cheaper, easier to find .44 but Im hoping to start reloading this year.

    It's .44 power in a .357 frame.

This is why I'll take a Smith .41 mag over a Ruger or DW. And yes I do own Ruger and DW .41s

that redhawk 41 mag sure is pretty, it is a very attractive round but I don't know if it's attractive enough when you have a 357 and a 44 mag...of course more is always better
