    Default Ruger Sp101

    Thinking of getting the SP101.
Which model would provide the least recoil?
    Thank's
I'd rather have a gun in my hand then a cop on the phone.

The longer barrel models will slightly help mitigate recoil due to the added weight but if you plan to conceal carry it I would go with the 2" option. The best way to deal with the recoil it a magnum revolver is too get a good set of target grips that work well in your hand.

If the sp101 is still offered in the 38spl. version, I would consider obtaining that configuration for reasonably soft recoil. I have a 2.5 inch 38, which is older, and can attest to the low snap of recoil.

Why not just shoot 38sp in 357mag? Any sp101 will tame. Ruger uses lots of extra metal.
