Most accurate .22 sporter
Reguardless of price, what is usually the most accurate .22 sporter, probably some Anschutz I guess.
The two best I've had were a Rem 541-s I bought in 73 and a CZ 452 American I bought last year with the edge going to the CZ.
I'm going to start buying one power ball lotto ticket a week and need to plan my aresnal if I win.

Weatherby has a new bolt action out the Mark XXII that is built by Anschultz. Every write up I have read has raved about the gun.

weihrauch hw60j
1416D anschutz kk-54 / sporterized 54 (1416)
40-x .22lr (kinda heavy)
coopers (single shot)
the remington 541T or X you mention above.
customized contender/encores
and for semi
Volqaurtsen 2500-5000s.
and other customs.
just my opinions, I had a match 54 I should have kept, but not exactly sporting weight at all.
weihrauch rifles are neat, but with beeman done they are hen's teeth now.
I cancelled an order on one years ago sick of waiting, wish I waited...

2nd the 52 Sporter but not that expensive if you had 2008 dollars and 1960's prices. Unfortunately mine cost over $100.00 when I was making $50.00 for 6 ten hour days. I never have regretted buying it.

Re: Most accurate .22 sporter
Well Phil, you were smarter than me, I wanted to buy one at that time but was too cheap and have regretted it ever since. In the 70s I wanted to buy a 40X sporter but had 3 kids and a mortage so did not.
