Need a competent gunsmith...
Looking for a recommendation for a competent gunsmith in Bucks...preferably near me (zip 18930)
Bought a S&W victory 22 and ended up stripping the socket on the takedown screw....
Contacting S&W to see if they will just ship me a new screw, but I'll need a pro to remove the old screw and not do damage to the pistol.
Thanks...

Re: Need a competent gunsmith...
Les Shaffer, of Shaffer Precision in Kempton (Allentown) is a member here and very competent. He is worth the hour plus drive for me!
There's another smith on the forum, I believe named Brian Ahern, and many people have had excellent results with him as well.Resistance to tyrants is obedience to God.

Re: Need a competent gunsmith...
You don't really need a gunsmith any competent machinist with a shop could do this while you wait as it requires no modifacation of the gun just equipment that is better than most homeowners have in their garage
