From my understanding you can't carry in most hospitals because the have an area for mental health patients. I may be completely wrong but I didn't think you can carry on dept of corrections property and mental wards.

You can't carry in most hospitals nowadays because they say you can't. The mental health patient issue is separate, just as the facilities for such are separate, secure facilities (you can't get in unless they unlock the door for you, and you can't get out unless they unlock the door for you.

Carrying in DOC and psych facilities are covered by law, but hospitals are not.
