I have shot a few Glocks. They were fine pistols. I was able to get good accuracy, and they were reliable. However, I just don't like them well enough to own.

I have you beat by a year, my Gen1 G17 is from 1988. I would not call it my fav, but it is a fine pistol and I prefer the older style grip to the new finger groove thingies.

Glocks have a stellar design in simplicity, and function. I think the potential for major advancements in self-defense technology exists. Regardless, Glock has it here and now.

Every year or so a new or long time manufacture comes out with a new pistol that's going to be a "TOTAL CAME CHANGER" and all they end up being is a Glock or Glock like with a bunch of added features like a useless loaded chamber indicator or something like that.

This years winner is the Ruger American so my hat's off and a big Congratulations Ruger you finial caught up to 2010.

If I could only own 2 pistols it would be a G17 and a CZ-75.

I think I bought my first in either 89-90, I don't have it any longer but I do have a 1989 Austrian proofed G17.

    Love my 34, definitely want a G35 or G24 and eventually a G40. A G26 would be nice too.

    Then I also want a 6" 2011 .40 also.
