.25ACP vs .22 WMR
I recently picked up a Beretta .25acp pistol for an extremely good price and was wondering if anyone had any insight regarding their terminal ballistics in comparison to a .22WMR? Not that I'm looking to use either cartridge for primary CC or anything, just curious.

The .22WMR is a bit better but has function issues in a small auto. The .25 does not have the punch but they function very well.

This
.25 is closer to 22lr than the mag. It's advantage is in feeding and more reliable ignition. Don't discount your little beretta too much. I carry a 950 everyday as a bug and sometimes by itself when I can't carry anything else. Peppering a threat with 8 or 9 .25acp rounds will ruin almost anyone's day.

Re: .25ACP vs .22 WMR
Browning designed the 25acp as a center fire equivalent of the 22lr. For reliability reasons.

I prefer the Kel Tec P-32 in .32 acp for a pocket gun. Mine has almost 1,000 rounds with no problems. But I like the .22 mag in something like a Ruger LCR snubby revolver.
