I'd do 9mm, more capacity, less per round, plenty of stopping power and much more pleasant to shoot. Also, if you shoot a lot, the 9mm polymer lower and internal components are less likely to ware over the life of the gun. The 40 certainly packs a punch though! I hope this helps, good luck

now i'm like "389 is a much easier price to pay than $499 and i'll have a more powerful round to switch things up" then my local range is having a sale on glocks on saturay and I've been wanting a 34 for some time. my brain hurts.

The .40 will get you into major power factor scoring, which in layman's terms means you can be slightly less accurate but still score well.
Also, while steel is supposed to be calibrated for 9mm, you will quickly find that placement is also key on steel with a 9mm.
Scraping the edge of a plate with a 9mm may require a follow up or take the miss, a .40 or above will take it down.

When I started USPSA I quickly abandoned my Beretta 92 due to my poor scoring.
As soon as I went to a G22 my scores improved simply due to less second shots and "misses" due to plates not falling.

They improved again when I went to a Para P14.

I picked up the p-09 in 9mm today and took it straight to the range. 112 flawless rounds and great groups at 10 and 25 yards. I like it!

I just picked up a tanfoglio CZ clone mossad marked.
Some rack rash, but the insides look brand new.

Recommend me a good leather owb non retention strap holster. Preferably one less than 150 bucks
