Open question - the use of TITLE 18, U.S.C.
Good morning all,
I have been doing a lot of reading on CR violations. I have also watched some of those crazy YouTube videos where individuals are using TITLE 18, U.S.C., SECTION 241 and TITLE 18, U.S.C., SECTION 1951 to threaten law enforcement in different situations such as traffic stops, etc.
Does anyone know any litigation that was successful in using these statutes? It is interesting as in many cases the individuals are not id'd, searched and let go to travel free as they wish.
To me I think using this would be far fetched to say the least......
Your thoughts??
Thanks,

They don't work.... At least on cops who know what they are being told or know the sections that they are being threatened with. I guess some cops would walk away not caring or fearful that they may get jammed up. But I think that most cops are going to do what they are going to do... Whether you agree with traffic enforcement or not, the states declare that driving is a privilege and they have the right to make and enforce regulations. You will never get a US attorney to file the charge... You're only going to piss the cop off and have a good chance of end up eating dirt. Remember that there are probably hundreds of thousands or maybe a million stops a day... If was really successful there would be that many youtube videos showing it.

Highway speed traps where the limit is lowered should be considered extortion, but it'll never happen.

You might want to check out: www.aele.org. (Americans For Effective Law Enforcement) select: Free Law Library and Publications. I have found many cases over the years that
show liability issues for LEO's etc.FUNDAMENTALS
