It's just a nasty rifle, and it's meant for fighting in nasty point blank ways. Although that's pretty exciting the ammo is almost unworthy to waste in the rifle, and I'm tempted to sell my remaining 308 sometimes. Till this day I still have nightmares about cleaning it, but then it was my first rifle that I ever purchased. I'm tempted to now reclean it again with my new knowledge of C&R rifle restoration, but I won't. At least I like the way it looks, and it comes from across the world. Beats a vase.

For some reason, this rifle didn't appeal to me. For one, I don't have any others to shoot the .308 Nato and I want to save money by not adding a requirement for another round. On top of that, I have yet to read on any forums where someone says they "love it." Finally, they were post WWII so they are not in my optimal criteria for a purchase. Once you get past WWII, for me, it's probably going to be a semi-auto for me to be interested.

I love looking at the pics that some of the folks have posted here though.

I really liked mine. The chamber was a tad loose but would still pass "field" head space. The only reason I sold it was make room in the safe when the Remington 700PSS in 308 showed up. Made a great entry-level 7.62mm rifle.
