Re: 5 Alarm Fire
You bet me to it! Its Huge, what a shame, do they know how it started?
http://abclocal.go.com/wpvi/story?se...cal&id=6325577
The fire broke out around 4:30 p.m. at an unoccupied building at the Riverwalk at Millenium apartments, a $51 million upscale apartment complex. The fire spread rapidly and destroyed the building.
The fire has since spread to occupied buildings, and remains out of control.
Story continues belowAdvertisement
In all, five buildings are burning.
Montgomery County officials say hundreds of people have been evacuated, and they are being taken to a local fire department. Arrangements are being made for them there.
One firefighter has been injured battling this blaze. The extent of that firefighter's injuries are unclear.
The smoke is visible from the Schuylkill Expressway, and is causing traffic delays.
The fire is also affecting the rails. SEPTA says the R6 Norristown line is suspended in both directions because of the fire.
Witnesses calling Action News say embers from the fire are falling as far as 12 blocks away.
There are no reports of injuries at this time.

Re: 5 Alarm Fire
Not trying jump to conclusions, or point fingers, but.......
seems to resemble a eco-nazi fire in VA. from initial reports....
I sure hope I am WRONG!!!!

Re: 5 Alarm Fire
I caught a little of this on the news tonight. Huge fire. If I am not mistaken the development is only partially inhabited, and partially still under construction. I'm wondering if maybe the developers got in too deep and couldn't continue on, and used a spark to get out of the red?
