Re: If you've signed up, say hi here.
Hello, I'm a new member to this forum and a new gun owner all at once.
My name is Brian, and I am a resident of Meadville, PA. I had purchased a rifle earlier this year (Glenfield model 30A), but ended up selling it again after two months of ownership and three sessions at the shootin range. Just couldn't get comfortable with it, or find the right balance to hold it nice and steady on the target. Good thing I didn't take it hunting, ya?
I recently bought a pistol at a new(ish) dealer here in town as a daily CCW carry, and fell hard for the Smith & Wesson M&P chambered in 9mm. Felt natural in my hand, and the range time has shown it to be a quality firearm. Thus far it has eaten Winchester, Federal, Remington, and MagTech ammunition with zero failures.
I also got my PA license to carry with really fast turn around on the application. I turned in my app on Monday, and the permit was in the mailbox by the following Friday. Don't know how they got everything that quick, since the Sheriff's office told me it normally takes 2-4 weeks depending on how many applications need to be processed and Crawford County has been seeing record numbers of applications lately.
Now that I have a pistol I'm really comfortable with, my next purchase is going to be a rifle. Not sure which way I'll go as far as caliber, or make and model. But I figure I have plenty of time to do research and try a few different rifles out for fit.
Thank you for your time in reading this. I hope to learn alot here.
